About fittings

Fittings, or bolted plit clamp-on fittings, according to AS1725-1-2010, fittings are clamps, caps, hinges and components used in the assembly of a fence, shall be manufactured from plain carbon steel, suitable for hot-dip galvanising complying with AS/NZS4680.

Type of fittings

The regular types of fittings are tee fittings ("T"), cross fittings "X"), corner fittings ("C"), caps, and universal clamps, etc.

Tee fittings

Tee fittings, used for assembling the end/ intermediate posts and horizontal rails or bracing stays.

Cross fittings

Cross fittings, for connecting pipe posts and rails.

Adjustable corner fittings

Corner fittings, including adjustable corner and fixed corner, are suitable for end pipe posts and rails.

How to choose the right size of the fittings?

It depends on the size of the steel pipe post and rail.

  • Class 1: Medium-quality pipe

  1. General: It's suitable for the requirements of most government departments and councils. Installations provide for improved durability and life for fencing for long-term security purposes.
  2. Application: All pipes and bracing rails and stays throughout the fence installations shall be medium quality.
  • Class 2: Medium/ Light quality pipe

  1. General: It's suitable for most industrial and commercial installations. Class 2 pipes are most commonly used in industry for medium-to-long-term security purposes.
  2. Application: Light quality pipe shall be used for all intermediate posts, bracing rails and/or stays.
  • Class 3: Medium/ Extra light quality pipe

  1. General: It's suitable for domestic and light duty industrial and commercial installations, mainly for short-term security purposes.
  2. Application: Medium quality pipe shall be used for all terminal posts. Extra light quality wall pipe shall be used for all intermediate posts, bracing rails and/ or stays.

How to pack the fence fittings?

Each fitting set will be screwed together, then into cartons. Pallets can be used if necessary.
